Like Clausthaler, a number of breweries were chasing the holy grail of non-alcoholic beer in the late 60s and early 70s. At some point, most of them gave up. Clausthaler never did.
With the use of cutting-edge technology, Clausthaler pioneered an innovative method of brewing non-alcoholic beer. While the competition tried a different way to brew beer and extract the alcohol after the fact, Clausthaler developed a process where only a negligible amount of alcohol is produced in the first place.
We are 100% independent. Because of this we do things differently than others because we can. We engage with both feet firmly on the ground. At home we learned how to set our own course, to go into the world and to persevere if you believe in something. You can notice and taste these characteristics. We malt our own barley and have our own mineral water source. In this way we can guarantee the continuous quality of our products. All stemming from our passion to let the world enjoy our beer.
Looking closely at the past of Schneider Weisse, one will uncover two fascinating stories: The first tells of duke Maximilian I. and his rigorous commitment to the propagation of wheat beer, leading to the foundation of the first „Weisses Bräuhaus“ in Kelheim – today’s brewing site of Schneider Weisse. A seemingly whole different story begins far from Kelheim and tells us of the brewer family Schneider, passing on their precious heritage of experience and passion over many generations.
The history of Licher Privatbrauerei begins in 1854, when the innkeeper’s son Johann Heinrich Jhring establishes a steam beer brewery in the Hessian town of Lich, to provide his parents’ hostel, Zurn Lowen, with beer.
In 1988, its rapid growth made Licher the market leader in the Frankfurt area, a position still held today. Today, Licher exports to more than 35 countries around the world. More than half of exports go to Italy, where Licher enjoys particular popularity.
To this day, the purity, the freshness and the quality of its natural ingredients, are the values that characterize Licher high quality beers.
